Good morning readers!
I feel the need for sharing an accomplishment with you: I decided to deprive myself of food for 3 days and instead drank my way through Private Dietbox's detox juices! I know this sounds quite insane and why oh why would one do such a thing voluntarily? Well the answer to said question would be: to prove that you can do anything if you set your mind to it (and the hope of losing a few pounds and reseting some abominable eating habits is an added bonus).
Now, how did this deprivation go over?
The first day went surprisingly well! After a good long lie in (it was sunday) I drank the first couple juices with an interval of about 2 hours in between. I drank very slowly and found it difficult to finish the whole bottle because they are huge (thank god)! And please note: they are really yummy! No, seriously and if I'd have to pick a favorite it'd be the Mintox (Apple, Cucumber, Ginger, Lemon and Orange). Private Dietbox advices you not to snack during the day but if you're feeling like you just can't then indulge on some nuts or rice crackers. Which I did. A couple of almonds and cashews. Sinner, sinner. I ended the day with the most delicious almond and cinnamon juice which is what I imagine a warm cup of cocoa before bed tastes like (me= lactose intolerant and therefore not privy to said experience).
Now, I definitely thought I would wake up feeling hungry but nope, I felt extremely content. And the second day was much, much easier than the first! But what I was missing was my daily (okay 3-5 times a day) caffeine jolt. Gulp. Green tea just didn't seem to cut it. Come midday I started getting these slight headaches/dizzy spells. Which weren't too bad, but they certainly made my monday night ballet class a lot more interesting.
Last day. A full load of uni courses and the end of the tunnel in sight. You might think after three days one would get sick of drinking the same flavors over and over again but I actually grew to like them even more. But the headaches didn't seem to want to let up. I'm assuming is was the lack of salt because I felt much better after snacking on a couple of salted rice cakes.
All in all: It was a very positive experience. Now the million dollar question: did I loose weight? No. But looking in the mirror I do feel a tad more elated. What I really wanted was to reset my stomach (i.e. shrink it) which I do feel the detox did. Plus my (constant) craving for sugar has definitely let up (or at least decreased somewhat) and my stomach is now normal sized in comparison to the bottomless pit it used to be. So I definitely recommend said detox program with Private Dietbox!
